launches green loan
Savills Private
Finance (SPF) has launched an exclusive ‘green’ self-cert
three-year discounted mortgage through the Co-operative Bank with
an initial pay rate of 3.79%. SPF’s deal offers people wanting
to self-certify a 1.2% discount for three years. There are no extended
penalties and the arrangement fee is £395. There is also a
paydown facility of up to 10% per year.
The Co-operative Bank follows an ecologically friendly policy and,
with the aim of helping to reduce the effect UK homes have on global
warming, it makes a donation for every mortgage they grant to Climate
Care. Climate Care aims to offset the average home's carbon dioxide
emissions arising from electricity and gas use through reforestation.
The self-certification mortgage product incorporates a free Home
Energy Rating (in conjunction with valuation), which details how
energy efficient a house is, and how money can be saved via various
energy saving measures.
